Hurricane Helene hit 6 months ago but the effects linger. My source of clay has not and will not rebuild. In an outpouring of love and charity so many of you shipped and delivered clay to my studio and I’ll be forever grateful! But now I need to find a replacement clay body.
BUT WAIT…………..THERE’s MORE!!!!
The reservoir that supplies our water was badly damaged. We were without usable running water for 3 months and when it returned there was a different mineral content, enough to impact all of the glazes that I make in my own studio. The short version of this is…. I’ve had issues. Many pots lost to a poor fit between glaze composition, my firing schedule, and various different clay bodies.
The Transitions collection offers you some gorgeous pieces that thrived in this process and I’m so very happy with them. Had everything been dismal I would have spent 6 months under a comforter covered in cats. There are Sprit Vessels, Test bowls, and Imperfect categories. Some of the Imperfects are actually my favorites and the test bowls are the prettiest ones of the lot. These are both highly discounted. I hope you find something that speaks to wherever you are as we share many other national, global, and planetary transitions. Sometimes the art born of resilience and change contains the voice of our shared humanity. Or so I think.
Transitions drops March 19 at 9 pm. Newsletter subscribers get an hour early entry.
